Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Central Processing Technician for Treasure Valley Labs. This part-time weekend shift includes Saturday 7:00 am to 2:45 pm and Sunday 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, and leverages phlebotomy/lab tech experience.

The role coordinates the central processing area, ensures specimen quality for in‑house and reference testing, and supports billing and EMR test ordering.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college education or associate degree preferred.
• Courses requiring lab work a plus.
• Prior experience working in a hospital setting or reference laboratory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the central processing area of the clinical laboratory.
• Ensure quality and quantity of inpatient and outpatient specimens for in‑house testing and reference labs.
• Register patient specimens received from outside locations.
• Collaborate with TVL laboratories on all specimens received for testing.
• Assist clinical staff with laboratory test questions and EMR test ordering.
