Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Central Processing Tech for a part-time weekend shift. Bring your phlebotomy/lab tech experience to coordinate the central processing area and ensure high-quality specimen handling for in-house and reference testing.

Responsibilities include registering specimens, billing for reference labs, and serving as a resource for staff on tests and EMR ordering. Weekends: Saturday 7:00 am–2:45 pm; Sunday 7:00 am–7:30 pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college education or associate degree preferred.
• Courses requiring lab work a plus.
• Prior experience working in a hospital setting or reference laboratory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate central processing activities in the clinical laboratory.
• Ensure quality and quantity of inpatient and outpatient specimens sent for testing.
• Handle billing functions for reference laboratories and register patient specimens.
• Serve as a resource for clinical staff on laboratory tests and EMR ordering.
