Job summary

The Ranch at Dove Tree in Lubbock, Texas is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate I (PRN weekends) to join our multidisciplinary treatment team. This on-site role focuses on monitoring client behaviors, providing support, and assisting in crisis response to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include safety checks, recording vital signs, facilitating groups, de-escalation, and coordinating with staff for transport and patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience with the facility's population preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure wellbeing of clients and provide a safe, structured environment.
• Conduct safety checks and follow supervision guidelines.
• Observe client behaviors and report significant observations to supervisor.
• Encourage attendance at group therapy and participation in activities.
• Engage with clients in activities to support treatment goals.
• Facilitate educational-rehabilitative groups covering social and coping skills.
• Take and record vital signs and communicate changes to charge nurse.
• Chart in client records timely and accurately.
• Apply de-escalation techniques to manage emotions and participation.
• Assist with unit organization, incident reporting, and discharge processes.
• Provide transfer or transportation for clients as required.
• Receive hand-off reports and provide thorough briefings to oncoming shift.
• Introduce new clients to staff and programs; orient them to activities.
