Job summary

STI is seeking an Equipment Crew Member to lead the setup of audio/visual gear for conference rooms and the Statehouse. You will troubleshoot and repair equipment, organize event timelines, and prepare spaces for daily activities and high-profile events.

The role requires practical knowledge of AV gear, strong customer service, and the ability to work weekends as needed. You will maintain clean, ready spaces and coordinate with internal staff and interns on site.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of audio, video and sound equipment.
• Ability to stand long hours and perform manual tasks.
• Excellent oral communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge and leading the set-up of specialized sound, audio, visual, live streaming equipment including mixers, monitors, DVD players, mult box and podium equipment.
• Troubleshooting issues with sound and audio equipment and performing necessary repairs for full functionality.
• Review worksheets, organize timelines and plan room set-ups for Statehouse events.
• Assess conference rooms and locations for needed equipment and prepare the space.
• Ensure doors are unlocked, lights are on, and blinds are open as required.
• Transport unused equipment to storeroom and set up essential gear as requested.
• Keep spaces presentable by cleaning and removing trash between events.
• Handle Statehouse events efficiently with awareness of location and timeframes.
• Lead other staff in the absence of supervision and supervise interns when needed.
