Job summary

Indian River State College is seeking an Event Set-Up Technician to support the setup, operation, and breakdown of a wide range of events. You will ensure spaces are safe, organized, and ready by following work orders, assisting with AV needs, and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include reading work orders, transporting and configuring equipment, and conducting final room inspections, while maintaining safety and collaboration with staff, faculty, and external clients.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of related event setup or facilities experience preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of safe handling and setup of event equipment.
  • Ability to operate carts, lifts, ladders and basic tools safely.
  • Basic understanding of AV equipment setup and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Transport, set up, reconfigure, and break down event equipment (tables, chairs, staging, AV).
  • Read and interpret work orders and diagrams.
  • Conduct final room inspections for readiness and cleanliness.
  • Provide directions and support event registration activities.
  • Follow safety protocols during load-in/out and equipment handling.
