Job summary

The New York Post is seeking an experienced editor for a part-time role (16-24 hours per week) with the Sunday staff. The editor will edit breaking copy and long-form stories in the Post’s tabloid voice for web and Sunday print, mining and assigning stories with a critical eye.

You’ll lead a team of reporters, provide clear direction, and ensure coverage spans local, national and international news in the Post’s distinctive style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Minimum of 5 years of editing in a busy newsroom.
• Ability to edit and rewrite breaking news and long-form stories in lively tabloid prose for web and print.
• A keen understanding of the voice of the Post.

Responsibilities

• Mine, assign and edit an array of stories on immediate deadline for web and Sunday print edition.
• Give clear direction to the team of reporters and journalists.
• Transform breaking copy on deadline to sing in The Post's tabloid voice.
• Cover local, national and international news with a bold, engaging style.
