Job summary

WCIA 3 is looking for a full-time Weekend Anchor / Multimedia Journalist to work for the top station in this market. The weekend anchor will produce and anchor weekend newscasts, report three days a week, and will be first in line to fill-in anchor other primary newscasts.

We seek a candidate passionate about storytelling, able to connect with viewers, and to craft memorable moments that bring stories and newscasts to life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communication/Journalism or related field; equivalent experience may substitute.
• Two years television anchoring or reporting experience required.
• Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation.
• Strong reporting skills.
• Understand importance of social media.
• Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar and organizational skills.
• Promotes teamwork and cooperation with station personnel.
• Operate newsroom computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Produce content for multiple platforms (TV, internet, mobile).
• Enterprise and develop stories daily with management.
• Demonstrate storytelling using live shots, stand-ups, graphics, and social media.
• Organize material, determine angle, write stories to editorial standards.
• Gather and verify information via interviews, observation, and research.
• Build a network of sources to stay ahead of competitors.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
