Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician for weekend shifts in East Alton, IL. This full-time, on-site role covers inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of civilian aircraft, with emphasis on safety and quality.

You will work under supervision with opportunities for growth, hands-on training and exposure to a wide range of systems. Strong teamwork and adherence to FAA guidelines are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license or passport is ideal.
• Airframe or Powerplant license required; airframe license preferred for AMT I.
• AMT I: 0–2 years aviation maintenance experience; AMT II: 2–4 years; AMT III: 4–6+ years; AMT IV: 6+ years.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
• Remove and install panels and components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve aircraft system issues.
• Refuel/defuel aircraft as needed.
• Perform engine removal and installations.
• Operate ground support equipment.
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components.
• Assist in taxiing and performance runs.
• Maintain shop facilities, equipment and tooling.
• Navigate maintenance data bases and manuals using basic computer skills.
• Communicate effectively in English.
