Job summary

Glenview Terrace Nursing Center is seeking a caring Activity Aide to join our team in Glenview, IL. You will help plan and lead recreational, social, and therapeutic activities to promote residents' quality of life and well-being.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, is patient and compassionate, and can encourage participation while respecting each resident's interests and abilities. Part-time schedule includes Saturdays and Sundays 8:30am-5pm.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, compassionate and enthusiastic personality.
• Ability to work effectively with residents with varying abilities.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading daily activities for residents.
• Organize games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, and other programs.
• Encourage participation while respecting individual choices and abilities.
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who prefer not to join groups.
• Assist residents with getting to and from activities safely.
• Set up, clean up, and maintain activity areas and supplies.
• Coordinate special events, holidays, and community outings.
• Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Record attendance and participation; report to Activity Director or nursing staff.
• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection-control guidelines.
• Collaborate with nursing, dietary, therapy, social services, and other departments.
