Job summary

USPI Fish Pond Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to oversee inventory control, ordering of medical supplies, and stocking for the surgical unit. You will support the peri-operative team and ensure supplies meet standards of practice.

Position is full-time, weekday-only with no holidays, weekends, or on-call requirements; some early mornings or late evenings may be needed based on surgical flow.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Previous medical or hospital materials management experience preferred. Scrub techs welcome.
• Strong Customer Service Background
• Strong math and counting skills required
• Type minimum of 40 wpm preferred
• Computer experience required (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel preferred)
• Able to deal tactfully with public and other staff members
• Must possess the ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to deal with repetitive task
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, squat and lift heavy items above your head and shoulders
• Ability to work in a clean and sterile environment

Responsibilities

• Orders and maintains all medical inventory.
• Performs Quarterly Inventory accounting.
• Delivers supplies to appropriate location and prepares required paperwork.
• Adheres to Center policies and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
• Follows peri-operative nursing care standards and aseptic technique.
• Maintains and updates skills in cleaning and preparation of operating room equipment.
