Job summary

Thimble Alterations LLC seeks an experienced alterations specialist to work on bridal and women's formalwear from home as an independent contractor. You will handle wedding gowns, bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride/groom garments, provide accurate fittings and communicate timelines to clients.

The role emphasizes meticulous garment construction, machine and hand sewing, and professional customer service to grow your client base on the platform.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring.
• Machine + hand sewing proficiency.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
• We also receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
