Job summary

Vermont State University is seeking a Website Content Manager to oversee and continually improve content, design, and functionality across the university site. You will collaborate with marketing, admissions, and other stakeholders to develop compelling, accessible content and drive enrollment goals.

The role requires WordPress expertise, strong writing skills, and a data-driven approach to optimize content and site performance. This is a 37.5-hour weekly, exempt position within the VSCS system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related field and 3–4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in website management and CMS use, preferably in higher education.
  • Proficiency writing engaging copy for the web with SEO in mind.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS, WordPress, and Google Analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Write, manage, and update content across the university website, ensuring accuracy and brand alignment.
  • Independently manage weekly web update tickets and support SEO efforts.
  • Collaborate with marketing and admissions to meet web content needs and accessibility standards.
  • Analyze website performance and leverage insights to optimize content and structure.
  • Support design and implementation of new website features with accessibility in mind.
