Job summary

STRS Ohio seeks a Web Communications Manager to lead its online presence for members, employers and stakeholders. You will directly design, develop and maintain interactive websites, forms and applications, aligning with STRS Ohio's mission and standards.

You will oversee email campaigns, analytics, accessibility testing and cross‑functional collaboration with ITS and communications teams to ensure reliable, user‑friendly digital experiences that reflect STRS Ohio’s values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or a related field is required.
• Seven+ years of experience in web design and development, online editing and site design.
• HTML email development experience is required.
• Proficiency in front-end tech: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX and JSON; PHP and SQL knowledge.
• ADA accessibility, cross‑browser compatibility and responsive web design expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead STRS Ohio's online presence for members, employers, associates and stakeholders.
• Design, develop, test and maintain responsive websites, forms and applications using semantic code.
• Develop data‑driven pages and secure forms with front‑ and back‑end tech including PHP and CSV/XML.
• Manage online communications and marketing efforts and coordinate with ITS for stability.
• Create HTML email templates compatible with major clients and analyze performance.
• Oversee third‑party programs and vendors and evaluate replacements as needed.
• Ensure usability and ADA compliance; supervise accessibility testing across browsers.
