True Markets in New York is hiring a Web Engineer to own the trader-facing web surfaces—real-time market data, trading views, and portfolio flows. You’ll ship fast, reliable UI in Next.js and TypeScript, turning live data into clear, actionable interfaces and partnering with product to shape features used by professional traders.

Overview

True Markets is building the next generation of digital asset trading. We give traders powerful tools, real-time intelligence and a secure, intuitive platform.

We're the team that launched USDC and grew the Coinbase exchange business 10×, so we've built financial infrastructure at global scale before. Now we're re-architecting global markets with stablecoin-powered settlement, cross-border liquidity and institution-grade trading systems.

Who you are

You trade. You might trade crypto on Coinbase, Kraken or Hyperliquid, equities and options on IBKR or thinkorswim, or all of them. You have opinions about order entry screens, depth charts and position views. You know which platforms feel fast and trustworthy, and you can explain why. Some stray clicks, some flickering prices or a confusing confirmation step have cost you money, and they irritated you.

You also love building UIs. You care about the gap between \"it works\" and \"it feels right\", and you sweat the details: latency, information density, keyboard flow, what the screen shows while a fill is pending. You want to build the trading platform you'd actually use.

Impact

As our Web Engineer, you'll own the web surfaces traders use every day: trading views, real-time market data, portfolio and account flows. You'll also own the systems behind them. You'll work across the stack in Next.js and TypeScript, turning live market data into interfaces that are fast, legible and trusted. You'll be the voice of the trader in product decisions, and you'll speak from experience.

Required qualifications

• You trade actively in crypto and/or traditional markets, and you can talk in depth about the platforms you use: what they get right and what you'd change.


• A genuine passion for markets and financial technology. You follow the industry because you want to, not because the job requires it.


• 5+ years shipping production web applications as a full-stack or frontend-leaning engineer.


• Deep expertise in TypeScript and modern React: Next.js App Router, server components and data-fetching patterns.


• A strong product and design sense, with a track record of UIs you're proud of. Show us.


• Comfort across the stack: designing APIs, modeling data and writing the server code behind your UI.


• Strong written communication and high autonomy in a small team.


• AI-native: Claude Code (or a comparable agentic tool) multiplies your output every day. You have good instincts for when to trust it, when to verify, and how to push it harder.

Ideal qualifications

• You've built trading, brokerage or fintech products where correctness and real-time data matter.


• Experience with WebSocket streams, market data feeds, order books or other low-latency UI patterns.


• High-density data visualization: charting libraries, virtualized tables, streaming updates without jank.


• Production experience with backend services in Go (or similar, such as Rust).


• Hands-on experience with monorepo tooling, modern bundlers and CI/CD for web apps.


• Comfort with testing (Playwright, Vitest) and frontend observability tooling.

Compensation and benefits

• Salary range: $150,000–$180,000 per year
