Job description

The Antwi Group is seeking a technically skilled, detail-oriented, and security-conscious Web Developer / WordPress Administrator to join our IT & Digital Systems Department.

Working under the direction of the IT & Digital Systems Department Manager, the Web Developer / WordPress Administrator will be responsible for developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, optimizing, and supporting The Antwi Group’s websites and related web infrastructure.

This position will work extensively with WordPress, Elementor, themes, plugins, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, databases, hosting environments, DNS, SSL, website backups, forms, and integrations.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working on both the visible front end of websites and the underlying technical systems required to keep them secure, reliable, responsive, and maintainable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and support The Antwi Group’s company websites.
  • Administer WordPress installations and related web systems.
  • Maintain and configure WordPress themes and child themes.
  • Maintain and configure approved WordPress plugins.
  • Develop and maintain pages, templates, forms, navigation, and website functionality.
  • Work with Elementor and other approved page-building tools.
  • Develop custom HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP when appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot WordPress, theme, plugin, database, and server-related problems.
  • Diagnose plugin and theme conflicts.
  • Resolve website errors, broken layouts, failed integrations, and other technical issues.
  • Maintain responsive website behavior across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Test website changes across common browsers and screen sizes.
  • Maintain website staging and testing environments when available.
  • Follow approved procedures before deploying significant changes to production websites.
  • Create appropriate backups before major updates or modifications.
  • Maintain and monitor website backup systems.
  • Perform approved website and database restorations when required.
  • Coordinate WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates.
  • Review updates for compatibility and potential risk.
  • Maintain website security settings and approved protective measures.
  • Monitor websites for suspicious activity, malware, unauthorized changes, and technical problems.
  • Assist with website recovery following technical or security incidents.
  • Support website hosting environments.
  • Assist with domain, DNS, SSL certificate, and web-server configuration.
  • Work with databases, including MySQL or MariaDB, when troubleshooting or development requires database access.
  • Maintain website forms and approved email integrations.
  • Support careers and recruitment website functionality.
  • Maintain job-board systems and related website features when assigned.
  • Support analytics, tracking, and approved third-party integrations.
  • Improve website performance, page-loading speed, caching, and asset delivery.
  • Optimize images and website resources when appropriate.
  • Maintain organized documentation of website configurations and significant changes.
  • Coordinate with approved hosting providers and technical vendors when required.
  • Protect administrative credentials and privileged website access.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding unreleased company information and internal web systems.
