Job summary

Artech Infosystems Ltd. in Summit, NJ is seeking an experienced WordPress Developer to support the development, maintenance and management of Corp and Country affiliate sites on a WordPress Network (Multisite) platform and other digital projects.

The role covers both back-end and front-end work, including custom post types, theme and plugin development, RESTful APIs, and responsive designs. A strong PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript skill set, plus familiarity with multilingual sites and AWS/LAMP

Role: WordPress Developer
Duration: 9+ months
Location: Summit, NJ
Job Description:

• Looking for an experienced WordPress developer to support development, maintenance and management of Corp and Country affiliate sites on WordPress Network (Multisite) platform and other digital projects as assigned.
• The successful candidate would be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and updating plugins.
• This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on).
• The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems.
• Experience with the responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred.
• Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of building WordPress CMS websites using the best practice & de¬facto standard plugins
• Experience working with WordPress at a PHP code level:
• Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
• Knowledge of existing inbuilt WordPress functions.
• Customizing WordPress to support specific functionality
• Creation of custom post types.
• Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform with WordPress coding standards.
• Creation of clean, logical, well ¬documented and reusable code.
• Theme/template integration.
• Knowledge of WordPress Network (Multisite) required.
• Familiar with AWS LAMP Stack Configuration
• Experience creating multilingual websites.

• Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
• Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wire-frames into working HTML pages
• Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial)
• Knowledge of different PHP frameworks, libraries, or any other technology relevant to WordPress Multisite
• Strong understanding of PHP back-end development.

• Ensuring all work adheres to current industry best practice.

Experience

Minimum 4 years' experience of PHP programming, MySQL, HTML/CSS/LESS/SASS, JavaScript, XML/JSON and 3rd party APIs, Cross-platform and cross-browser, Responsive, Web standards and accessibility, Code testing, Security, Deployment

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines (MIS, Web Development, etc) preferred.
