Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a(n) entry-level Web Developer I to join Web Services in Academic Technology, a unit within UFIT.

UF Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching, learning, research, and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems, including SEC and SUS universities, and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator.

Web Services supports the University’s web presence through administering content management systems, developing theme resources and minor applications, reviewing and updating existing sites, migrating content, and producing graphical elements.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Problem-solving web-related requests from stakeholders around campus
  • Remediating WCAG accessibility violations

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, communications, or a web-related field
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize a variety of web information and technical tools to apply web developing trends within the organizational infrastructure
  • Knowledge of collaborative techniques and ability to promote a culture of information sharing and working together to solve business problems and meet business goals.
  • Understanding of the issues related to the decision-making process; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately, and reach productive decisions
  • Understanding of the necessity of continuous personal growth; ability to gauge one’s strengths, limitations and interests, and use of this knowledge for purposes of performance effectiveness and self-development.
  • Knowledge of and ability to research, identify and apply formal disciplines and best practices for improving the quality and costs related to product development
