Join a mission-driven team at Enterprise State Community College and help strengthen the online experience for ACCS projects across websites, microsites, and key digital applications. This onsite role in Montgomery, AL supports day-to-day web administration, maintenance, and quality control, while giving you room to contribute to enhancements, landing pages, and content publishing workflows. You will also help ensure performance, accessibility compliance, and brand-consistent experiences across institutional web properties.
What you’ll do
- Conceptualize, develop, and maintain websites and microsites for ACCS projects and marketing initiatives
- Build, update, and maintain responsive, accessible web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Develop reusable components within CMS platforms such as WordPress, SharePoint, or other CMS systems
- Handle day-to-day maintenance, including navigation updates, browser compatibility testing, and quality control for internal and external content
- Refresh site content to keep information accurate, timely, and aligned with institutional messaging
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving content, links, layouts, registration and order flows, CMS functionality, and transaction logs
- Monitor website uptime and coordinate with IT to keep server availability as close to 100% as possible
- Optimize performance through clean code, image optimization, caching strategies, and SEO-friendly practices
- Translate marketing goals into functional digital experiences including landing pages for enrollment campaigns, program promotions, and institutional initiatives
- Collaborate with designers and content creators to implement brand-consistent layouts, typography, and interactive elements
- Support content teams by building templates, improving publishing workflows, and advising on web best practices
- Provide technical insight during campaign planning, including feasibility and timelines
- Implement on-page SEO best practices such as metadata, structured content, and schema markup where appropriate
- Monitor performance and analytics using tools such as Google Analytics and Tag Manager
- Run A/B testing and recommend improvements to increase engagement and conversions (inquiries, applications, event registrations)
- Implement campaign tracking using UTM parameters and event tracking
- Ensure accessibility standards are met, including WCAG and ADA guidelines (alt text, semantic structure, keyboard navigation)
- Maintain consistency with institutional brand, design, and editorial standards across all web properties
- Support governance and documentation by defining best practices and standards for distributed content editors
- Manage CMS user permissions and support or train internal content editors
- Coordinate with IT on hosting, security updates, and system integrations, including third-party platforms (CRM, form builders, chatbots, event platforms, marketing tools)
- Maintain an inventory of photos and digital assets used on websites and publishing projects, and evaluate images for web or print suitability
- Prepare electronic files for proofing, presentation, and final print production when needed
- Document processes, code snippets, and workflows, and review website statistics and performance data
- Track and report status and progress of assigned tasks to support deadline completion
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring
- 3-5 years of experience in website development, creation, and maintenance
- 2+ years of desktop publishing experience (contract work acceptable)
- Portfolio of work required (print or electronic)
- Ability to work full time and on site
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency on Mac Operating Systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and common design and publishing tools, plus CMS platforms including WordPress, Joomla, or other CMS systems
