Job summary

Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity is seeking a ReStore Manager for the Weaverville location. You will oversee daily operations, inventory, pricing, and staff/volunteer supervision to ensure a safe, welcoming, and efficient retail environment.

You will collaborate with the Donations Manager and Assistant Manager to meet budget and sales goals, while upholding safety standards and delivering excellent customer service in a busy thrift store setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, nonprofit management, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
• Minimum 3 years of ReStore, thrift store or retail management, nonprofit resale, or related supervisory experience required.
• Experience supervising and developing staff in a retail or service environment.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and delegation skills with the ability to mentor.
• General business knowledge including budgeting, expense control, and sales forecasting.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and motivate staff, volunteers, and customers.
• Knowledge of merchandising, inventory management, and retail best practices.
• Commitment to safety standards and ability to enforce policies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, POS systems, and ability to learn new software as needed.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Customer service–oriented with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all ReStore activities, inventory and pricing, and collaborate with the Assistant Manager on daily tasks.
• Create and maintain a safe work and retail environment with the Assistant Manager.
• Supervise and train volunteers and staff; mentor the Assistant Manager.
• Follow the annual business plan and allocate responsibilities.
• Monitor the operating budget and control daily expenses.
• Supervise ReStore staff and volunteers, ensuring alignment with goals.
• Ensure adequate inventories of merchandise and replenish floor stock.
• Maintain store layout, displays, and signage to merchandising standards.
• Coordinate with marketing for promotions and sales events to hit goals.
• Control store expenses to meet profit targets; monitor cost-control practices.
• Oversee building, grounds, and equipment to keep them safe and presentable.
• Maintain records and operational reports; delegate as appropriate.
• Support staffing and scheduling with the ReStore Operations Manager and Assistant Manager.
• Provide leadership and feedback to the Assistant Manager for consistent operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
