Job summary

Access in Medford, Oregon, is seeking a Weatherization Technician I to support energy efficiency and safety improvements in residential homes. You will conduct inspections, educate participants, and assist in scheduling and documentation, with training leading to higher certifications.

Responsibilities include using diagnostic tools, coordinating with contractors, ensuring compliance with program guidelines, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative, customer service or related field.
• Ability to meet certification requirements for Weatherization Audit Tools and BPI credentials (training provided).
• Strong math, computer, and organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and work in varied physical conditions (stooping, bending, confined spaces).
• Valid Oregon driver’s license with an acceptable record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home inspections and audits to identify energy efficiency improvements and safety concerns.
• Educate participants on weatherization measures and energy conservation practices.
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, verify eligibility, prepare documentation, and schedule appointments in a timely manner and maintain accurate records.
• Install conservation kit items, when appropriate, and assist in development and coordination of energy education sessions.
• Utilize diagnostic tools (blower door, duct blaster, monoxer) and computerized audit software to model homes and generate work orders.
• Ensure compliance with all technical standards, program specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Compile data for weatherization and energy education files accurately and in a timely manner and issue work orders to contractors dependent on the audit and inspections.
• Complete required courses to attain required certifications (BPI, REA, Quality Control Inspector) within 2 years, or as designated by ACCESS.
