Job summary

Kestra Medical Technologies Inc. in Springfield, MO, is seeking an ASSURE Patient Specialist to fit and train local patients with a wearable defibrillator.

This contractor role involves hands-on patient care, travel to hospitals and homes, and coordinating appointments with prescribers and caregivers. The ideal candidate has 1 year of paid patient care experience, a clinical or engineering background, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to complete credentialing and hospital requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year in a paid patient care experience (not as a family caregiver).
• Clinical or engineering background (nurses, clinical engineers, technicians, etc.).
• Disclosure of personal NPI number (if applicable).
• Completion of background check (Florida and Ohio level 2 screening).
• Willingness to pay an annual DME fee deducted from the work order.
• Ability to pay for vendor credentialing upfront during a probationary period.
• Experience in patient and/or clinician education.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Ability to work in the field in the region; disclosures for relationships/referral sources.
• Credentialing for hospital system entry; vaccination/immunization documents; background check; drug screening.
• Review and agree to hospital policies; completion of HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical/Fire Safety.

Responsibilities

• Fit and train local patients with a wearable defibrillator.
• Provide instruction and build confidence in Assure patients.
• Contact prescribers, caregivers and patients to schedule services.
• Possibly daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
• Travel to hospitals and patients’ homes for fittings.
• Measure patients to determine garment size.
• Process paperwork for garment and services.
• Manage inventory of kits, garments, and equipment.
