Job summary

Kestra Medical Technologies, Inc. in Peoria, IL seeks an ASSURE Patient Specialist to fit and train patients for wearable defibrillators. You will become certified as an APS and coordinate with prescribers, caregivers, and patients to arrange services.

This role requires field travel, strong patient care skills, and a commitment to privacy and safety. The position is compensated per fitting and may involve varied hours and travel.

Qualifications

• 1 year in a paid patient care experience (not as a family caregiver).
• Clinical or engineering background may include nurses, cardiac device sales reps, clinical engineers, cath lab techs, PAs, or ECG technicians.
• Disclosure of personal NPI number (if applicable).
• Background check completed; Florida and Ohio require level 2 screening at Kestra.
• Ability to pay vendor credentialing upfront during a 90-day probationary period.
• Experience in patient and/or clinician education.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Able to work in the field around Brownsville, TX; disclosures required for relationships/referrals.
• Credentialing for hospital system entry including HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical/Fire Safety.

Responsibilities

• Fit and train local patients with a wearable defibrillator via training assignments from corporate; become a certified APS.
• Provide instruction and instill confidence in Assure patients.
• Schedule services by contacting prescribers, caregivers, and patients.
• Work hours may include daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
• Travel to hospitals and patient homes to provide fittings.
• Measure patient to determine garment size.
• Process essential paperwork to receive the Assure garment and services.
• Manage inventory of Assure system kits, garments, and equipment.
