Job description

Description

Are you passionate about the Strategic Deterrence mission of the United States Navy and Air Force? Do you possess an intimate understanding of the hardware and software components that make up the Trident II D5 Weapon Control and Launcher systems? Do you love the idea of designing immersive training systems that train sailors to operate the weapon system, while also analyzing data to ensure it continues performing at peak efficiency?

If you are a professional in this field looking for your next challenging opportunity, then we want you on our team!

We are seeking a current or former Trident II D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) operator to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a cross‑disciplinary team dedicated to supporting the Navy and warfighter through system analysis and virtual trainer development. The ideal candidate will be intimately familiar with the Trident II D5 SWS and is eager to broaden their expertise by supporting additional weapon systems.

As a Weapon Control Analyst/Engineer, you will…
  • Define system requirements and specifications for integrating Launcher and Fire Control operations of the Trident II D5 SWS into a virtual reality (VR) training simulator.
  • Conduct training sessions and usability testing with US Navy fleet participants, gathering and incorporating feedback to improve simulator performance and training capability.
  • Participate in a wide variety of test and evaluation efforts, including full scale system tests conducted at government owned test facilities or onboard Navy platforms.
  • Analyze data from deployed and future weapon systems to uncover areas of vulnerability or degradation, providing this information back to operators in the field.
  • Influence future weapon system designs to create robust, secure, resilient solutions.
Qualifications

You’ll meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you…

  • Have at least 3 years of experience working directly with the Trident II D5 Fire Control System. This experience could be as enlisted, officer, or private contractor.
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance and are eligible for a Top Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requires U.S. citizenship.

You’ll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you…

  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Have experience as an instructor or weapons system evaluator for Trident II D5 SWS Launcher and Fire Control Systems.
  • Have knowledge of ship systems that support the SWS, e.g., Ship Control.
  • Have experience with additional weapon systems, including the Air Force Minuteman III or Sentinel systems, or with Columbia or Virginia‑class submarines.
Benefits
  • Robust education assistance program
  • Unparalleled retirement contributions
  • Healthy work/life balance
  • Bonuses and other forms of compensation per internal policy
  • Comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development
