Job summary

State Street is seeking a Lead Designer for the Wealth R&D team in Boston to define end-to-end design strategy for consumer-facing wealth management solutions. You will shape onboarding experiences, personalized insights, product navigation, and AI-driven interactions while establishing design principles and strategy.

You will guide the design vision for financial wellness apps, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver a modern, AI-enabled, user-centered experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing digital products.
• Strong portfolio showcasing complex UX systems.
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Principle).

Responsibilities

• Own the conceptual design, UX architecture, and visual direction for core experiences across key customer journeys.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with R&D, product, engineering, and data teams to define user-centered solutions.
• Partner with product team to provide demos to showcase design concepts and AI-forward interactions to leadership and clients.
• Participate directly in user testing and translate findings into actionable design improvements.
• Own and govern the application design system, interaction standards, and component library for scalability and accessibility.
• Drive rapid ideation, prototyping, and iteration of new product capabilities including AI-enabled guidance features.
• Set and uphold design quality standards across the platform and steer end-to-end design roadmap.
• Lead third-party design engagements to connect internal and external teams.
