Job summary
Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, has an opening in our San Diego office for a Claims Unit Supervisor. This role provides oversight and guidance to a team of five to seven Claims Professionals in the strategic management of workers' compensation indemnity claims while ensuring gold-standard service to injured workers and our insureds.
Leads a unit, fosters professional development, and ensures compliance with statutes and company standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of prior claims adjusting experience at a workers' compensation carrier.
- CA Self-Insurance Administrator's (SIP) Certification required (upon hire).
- Completion of mandated training and continuing education to adjust workers' compensation claims in California is required.
Responsibilities
- Leads a unit of five to seven Claims Professionals, establishing a culture of professionalism and excellence in service.
- Provides performance feedback and aligns goals with HR guidance as needed.
- Manages workflow, planning, assigning and directing work within the unit.
