Job summary

WATT HOTEL in Rahway, NJ is seeking an experienced bartender to prepare and serve beverages and food at the hotel lobby restaurant-lounge. You will manage drink orders at the bar and dining room, and deliver pick-up and run orders to bar and tables.

The role requires knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and strong POS skills. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is needed; NJ bartender license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• At least 1 year of front-of-house bartender-server experience in a high-volume bar-restaurant; hotel restaurant-bar experience preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills; POS experience required.

Responsibilities

• Mix and serve alcohol and non-alcohol drinks for guests following standard recipes and using company standardized proportions.
• Serve alcohol beverages responsibly, request identification, and adhere to all company alcohol service policies and procedures.
• Enter drink & food orders into the POS system, collect payment from guests for drinks served, and make correct change.
• Complete sales and inventory reports accurately.
• Maintain bar stock by ordering or requisitioning liquors, beverages, condiments, and supplies.
• Clean and store bar equipment and bar stock.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Bartenders prepare and serve beverages & food to our guests. Extensive knowledge of common drinks, cocktails, beers, and wines, you will be in charge of managing drink and food orders at our hotel lobby restaurant-lounge. Service at the bar and dining room table. Pick-up and run orders to bar and tables.

Essential Duties:

• Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
• Ability to bend, reach, and repeat motions.
• Ability to lift stock up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
