Job summary

The City of Oakland is seeking a Program Analyst III to advance watershed and stormwater initiatives within the Public Works Department. You will manage complex projects, translate technical data into clear reports, and collaborate with staff, consultants, and regulatory agencies to meet environmental goals.

Applicants should have a degree in environmental fields (Master's preferred) and experience in regulatory compliance, project management, and GIS.

Qualifications

• Education as listed: Bachelor’s degree in environmental fields; Master’s degree desirable.
• Experience in environmental management and regulatory compliance is described in the posting.
• Relevant lead direction or supervisory experience is noted.

Responsibilities

• Developing and refining projects addressing stormwater and water quality.
• Writing reports, memos, training documents, and other materials for diverse audiences.
• Conducting field investigations of creeks, infrastructure, and emergencies.
• Developing training courses and technical guidance on watershed management.
• Providing technical review to City work groups on development and projects.
• Interpreting plan sets, hydrology reports, and environmental data.
• Managing capital projects including creek restoration and stormwater infrastructure.
• Managing GIS projects and asset management initiatives.
