Job summary

HDR is seeking an Integrated Watershed Management Business Class Director to lead technical capabilities, shape strategy, and coordinate multi‑discipline teams across HDR’s service lines. You will drive risk management, quality, and client development while advancing HDR’s employee‑owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in related field.
• Professional/Architecture/Engineering registration for leadership roles.
• Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
• Works cooperatively with other HDR leaders on business class efforts.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build close working relationships with related business classes, market sectors, business groups and operations.
• Lead and participate in technical risk management through process and resource reviews, providing technical advisory services on selected projects, and maintain quality standards and delivery expectations.
• Drive quality assurance and control processes and coordinate with the WBG Quality Manager in those areas.
• Oversee development and application of technical tools, standards, and techniques to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Develop strategic plan for the business class with market sector directors and provide input to leadership.
• Facilitate business class teamwork, communication and work sharing between offices, business classes, management, marketing, and staff.
• Monitor business class direction, adherence to policies and practices, quality assurance, technical tools, project staffing and workload allocation.
• Build technical expertise and production capacity through recruitment and training.
• Facilitate technical experts in support of client development and project pursuits.
• Represent HDR in industry organizations and functions including presentations and publications.
• Oversee Technical Networking Groups sponsored by business class.
• Facilitate lessons learned for project delivery, processes, trends, successes, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Monitor company-wide performance within business class to achieve defined goals and support operational managers.
