Description
- Lead the daily operations of the water park, pools, slides, water features, cabanas, recreation activities, and guest areas.
- Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming, and memorable environment for guests and team members.
- Recruit, onboard, train, coach, schedule, and develop the Water Park team.
- Ensure appropriate lifeguard coverage, safety certifications, inspections, emergency procedures, and training.
- Develop and manage annual operating forecasts for attendance, revenue, labor, expenses, and capital needs.
- Monitor revenue, attendance, labor productivity, operating expenses, guest satisfaction, safety performance, and attraction downtime.
- Review actual performance against budget and forecast and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue through cabanas, rentals, activities, programming, merchandise, and other ancillary offerings.
- Partner closely with Engineering to maintain attractions, equipment, preventative maintenance programs, and overall facility condition.
- Monitor guest feedback, resolve concerns, and continuously improve the guest experience.
- Develop and maintain departmental SOPs, emergency action plans, and operating standards.
- Partner with People & Culture, Finance, Engineering, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Security, Front Office, Sales & Marketing, Recreation, Guest Services, and Resort Leadership.
- Provide regular operational and financial reporting to Resort Leadership.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of progressive management experience in water park, aquatic, recreation, resort, hospitality, or a similar operation.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of aquatic safety and risk management.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial, and labor-management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and guest-service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and peak resort periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Water park or aquatic facility management experience.
- Lifeguard and/or aquatic management certification.
- CPO/AFO certification or equivalent.
- Experience managing high-volume or seasonal resort recreation operations.
- Experience developing annual budgets and operating forecasts.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Recreation Management, Business, or a related field.
