Job summary

Hornblower Corp in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Host aboard our scenic passenger vessel to deliver warm welcomes and memorable experiences on the water.

You'll support front-of-house operations, greet and seat guests, assist servers, and provide information on menus, routes, and amenities. This role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential to ensure every voyage is exceptional.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Positive attitude with excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable lifting and moving furniture or supplies.
• Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude.
• Support front-of-house operations with daily cruise activities.
• Assist with deck setup, package placement, table assignments, and service preparation.
• Greet and seat guests to ensure a smooth arrival experience.
• Assist Servers and Server Assistants during service.
• Provide guests with information about menus, packages, entertainment, cruise routes, and points of interest.
• Assist with post-cruise cleanup and maintain clean, organized service areas.
• Help ensure guest safety and satisfaction throughout the cruise.
