Job summary

TEEX, part of the Texas A&M University System, invites applications for a Water/Wastewater Wage Instructor for COAST/TRAIN. The role involves delivering and organizing training for water/wastewater personnel in Corpus Christi and Brownsville, with a $45.00 hourly rate and a part-time, telecommuting arrangement.

Responsibilities include preparing courses, delivering lectures, and handling administrative tasks while maintaining professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
• Must reside in Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Cameron, Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, or Willacy counties.
• Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Texas Class “B” Water License.
• Texas Class “B” Wastewater License or Wastewater Collection II or III.

Responsibilities

• The Wage Agency Instructor assists in training various specialty skilled and/or semi-skilled courses within TEEX Workforce Development Programs at COAST in Corpus Christi and RAM in Brownsville.
• Delivers and conducts training courses for water and wastewater utility personnel to increase technical competence and skills.
• Prepares classrooms and training materials, delivers classes with teaching aids, and completes required administrative paperwork.
• Maintains technical competence and skills.
