Job summary

Operate and maintain the City of Oxford Water Distribution System and Wastewater Collection System. Work under the Water Division Superintendent, performing repairs and installing meters, hydrants, and mains in a team environment with emphasis on safety and city standards.

Requirements include a Class B driver's license, Backflow Certification, a high school diploma, and 3+ years in water distribution; position is full-time, non-exempt, outdoors, with on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of experience in Water Distribution or related field.
• Valid Class B driver’s license and Backflow Prevention certification.

Responsibilities

• Repair and construct water mains.
• Repair and replace fire hydrants.
• Install and record use of water meters.
• Replace asphalt after repairs.
• Inspect new construction for city compliance.
• Perform maintenance and construction of sewer lines.
• Assist other Water/Wastewater Technicians and agencies.
