Job summary

The City of Webster’s Public Works Department is seeking a Utility Equipment Operator to monitor and maintain the City’s water and sewer systems and to operate heavy equipment.

The role requires over one year of relevant experience and may include on‑call duties in the evenings and on weekends. Benefits include medical/dental/vision/LTD, retirement plans with 2:1 match, tuition assistance, and professional certification pay.

Qualifications

• Over one year of relevant experience required.
• Valid Texas CDL Driver’s License preferred.
• Preferred Equipment Operator Certification.
• Preferred Class “D” Water and Wastewater Licenses from TCEQ.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoes, tractors, box blades, and various equipment.
• Monitor and maintain City water and sewer systems.
• Respond to emergencies and on-call duties evenings/weekends.
• Provide direction to other employees.

Education

Texas CDL Driver’s License (preferred)

Equipment Operator Certification (preferred)

Class “D” Water and Wastewater Operator Licenses (TCEQ) (preferred)
