Job summary

The City of Webster's Public Works Department is seeking a Water Operator to ensure the efficient operation of the city's water supply. The role involves operating and monitoring water plants and distribution systems, plus maintenance of facilities and interface with City staff and residents.

Minimum qualifications include 1-3 years of relevant experience, a valid Texas Class C Water Operator license, and a Texas driver’s license; a Class C Wastewater license is preferred.

Job description

Job Announcement:

The City of Webster's Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of Water Operator. This position ensures the efficient operation of the City's water supply. This is accomplished by operating and monitoring the water plants and water distribution systems. Other duties may include maintenance of the water plants and water distribution systems, inspecting new construction and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does not provide direction to other employees.

  • Starting salary range is approximately $21.581 - $26.295 hourly, commensurate with experience.

Special Requirements:

This is an essential services position, and the employee will be required to provide services in the course and scope of employment for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of Webster's citizens. Federal Emergency Management [FEMA] training may be required within six (6) months of hire.
