Job summary

BGE, Inc. is seeking a Public Works Engineer - Water/Wastewater to support planning, analysis, and design of municipal water and wastewater projects in Austin, TX.

The role involves hydraulic modeling, preparing plans and reports, and collaborating with project teams and public agencies. The candidate should have a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, 5–7 years of relevant experience, and an EIT; a Texas PE is preferred or achievable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive civil engineering experience with emphasis on municipal water/wastewater design.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas preferred or ability to obtain.
• Experience preparing plans, specs, estimates, and construction documents for water/wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of water distribution, wastewater collection, and related design concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, analysis, and design of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Prepare calculations, technical memos, design reports, and construction documents.
• Perform hydraulic modeling using WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, InfoWater or comparable tools.
• Develop construction-ready drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D; assist with feasibility studies and design recommendations.
• Coordinate with project managers, CAD designers, subconsultants, contractors, and public agencies.
