Job summary

BGE, Inc. is a nationwide civil engineering consulting firm seeking a Civil Engineer to support municipal water and wastewater projects in Austin and San Antonio.

You will help plan, analyze, and design infrastructure, develop construction-ready drawings, and perform hydraulic modeling to ensure compliant, efficient systems. In this role you will collaborate with project teams, mentor junior staff, and contribute to client meetings while pursuing leadership opportunities and project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive civil engineering experience with municipal water/wastewater focus.
• EIT certification required; PE license in Texas preferred or obtainable.
• Hands-on experience preparing plans, specs, estimates, design calculations, reports, and construction docs.
• Knowledge of water/wastewater distribution, lift stations, pipelines, and treatment concepts.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; MicroStation a plus; hydraulic modeling software experience.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, analysis, and design of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Prepare calculations, design reports, and permit submittals.
• Perform hydraulic modeling using WaterGEMS/WaterCAD/InfoWater or similar tools.
• Develop construction drawings and profiles using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Assist with feasibility studies and design recommendations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, CAD staff, subconsultants, and agencies.
• Provide construction phase support and field observations as needed.
• Apply local, state, and federal regulations and design standards.
