Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Water/Wastewater Plants Division in the Jacksonville, FL area.

The role oversees the project from estimating and pre-construction through successful completion, emphasizing safety, owner satisfaction, cost control, schedule, and quality. Responsibilities include developing schedules, coordinating with clients, engineers and vendors, managing subcontractors, and ensuring contract compliance and project closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
• Five+ years of experience in engineering, construction, or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with client/owner, architect, and engineer to secure repeat business.
• Maintain a positive image of the company with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
• Develop and maintain the project schedule and cost controls.
• Set up and maintain project cost accounting and invoicing processes.
• Lead subcontractor negotiations and manage change orders.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance throughout all project phases.
