Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a water/wastewater background for the Tampa, FL office. You will oversee the project from estimating through completion, ensuring safety, schedule, cost, and quality meet owner expectations.

Responsibilities include coordinating with owners, architects, and engineers; managing schedules, budgets, and procurement; handling change orders and subcontractor agreements; and ensuring contract compliance and warranty delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, construction, or related field.
• Water/wastewater construction experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading teams; multimillion-dollar project experience.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with client/owner, architect, and engineer to secure repeat business.
• Maintain a positive company image with clients, vendors, and team members.
• Develop and maintain project schedule and cost accounting.
• Manage subcontracts, procurements, and change orders.
• Oversee project safety, quality, and compliance with contracts.
• Visit jobsites regularly to monitor progress and performance.
• Prepare and present project financials and progress reports.
