Job summary

Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager in California to lead water and wastewater infrastructure projects within a dynamic consulting environment. You’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, engage clients, and deliver practical solutions that strengthen long‑term water reliability.

Responsibilities include managing project scope, budget, and schedule; leading design delivery and construction support; coordinating disciplines; and supporting business development and staff growth.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Experience: 8+ years in water/wastewater infrastructure, 2+ years in PM role.
• Technical: Knowledge of planning, design, construction support, codes/regulations.
• Licensure: CA PE license required or within 6 months of hire.
• Travel: Availability to travel to sites and Kennedy Jenks offices.
• Preferred: Site civil design, technical writing, AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects: lead planning, design, and construction support within scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Lead design delivery: oversee engineering deliverables, including plans, specs, estimates, and contract docs.
• Support construction-phase services: coordinate with clients, contractors and teams to address questions and issues.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams: collaborate across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and architectural disciplines.
• Track project performance: monitor financials, milestones, risks, and resource needs.
• Engage clients: lead communications, meetings, and presentations to strengthen relationships.
• Support business development: shape proposals, budgets, scopes, and interview support.
• Develop staff: mentor junior staff and participate in hiring.
