Job summary

Kennedy Jenks Consultants in California seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead water and wastewater infrastructure programs. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality, and deliver engineering deliverables from planning through construction.

The role emphasizes client relationships, business development, and staff development in a collaborative, hybrid work setting with two days per week in the office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or similar field.
  • 8+ years of experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects, with at least 2 years in PM.
  • California PE license required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and Kennedy Jenks offices.
  • Experience with site civil design, technical writing, and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, and construction support across water/wastewater projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Oversee engineering deliverables: plans, specs, cost estimates, technical documents, and reports.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, project teams, and stakeholders to address questions and keep projects aligned.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
  • Monitor project performance: financials, milestones, risks, and resource needs; adjust as needed.
  • Lead client communications, meetings, and presentations to foster strong relationships.
