Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is a dynamic, employee-owned engineering firm seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager in Virginia. The role focuses on delivering water and wastewater projects from design through construction, mentoring team members, coordinating with subconsultants, and coordinating with clients to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The candidate will manage scope, schedule, and budget, develop project plans, and lead proposals and interviews with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required
• Registered Professional Engineer license required
• 10+ years of experience in engineering
• Experience delivering water and wastewater projects from design through construction
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong communication and presentation skills
• Team-oriented, works well in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities

• Manages project(s) in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget
• Collaborates with disciplines and subconsultants to develop project scope and fee
• Develop project plans, PM plans, and QA/QC plans
• Create and maintain project schedules
• Manage subconsultants and contract tasks
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and manage change
• Communicate status to stakeholders and lead status meetings
• Prepare progress reports and review invoices
• Lead in project status updates and client proposals
• Guide technical resources to deliver high-quality outcomes
• Provide coaching and mentorship to project team
• Lead and manage team performance and development
