Job summary

Brown and Caldwell in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a Project Engineer for water and wastewater projects. You will contribute to planning, modeling, and design of treatment and conveyance systems and support regulatory approvals.

The role involves fieldwork from design through construction, collaboration with a project team, and mentorship of junior staff. A bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering is required, with SMS progress and EIT/PE ambitions encouraged.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related work experience in environmental engineering or related field.
• Preferred SMS framework certification progress.
• Experience with field work and environmental project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical analyses to support sustainable water and wastewater solutions.
• Prepare and review technical reports and documentation for environmental projects.
• Assist in planning and design of environmental protection systems.
• Analyze data and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical support for permitting and vendor coordination.
• Mentor colleagues and share knowledge when needed.
