Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking an experienced Water/wastewater engineer in Virginia Beach to lead design oversight of water and wastewater projects. You will manage complex tasks, mentor junior staff, and contribute to technical proposals with clear, strong written and oral communication.

The role requires 11–15 years in water/wastewater planning, design and construction, plus a Virginia PE license or eligibility within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 11–15 years progressive experience in water and wastewater planning, design and construction.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Virginia or able to obtain via comity within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Manage, plan, and provide design oversight of water/wastewater projects.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets, deliver on time and on budget, ensure accurate client billings.
• Participate in construction phase, including pre-bid conferences and post-bid evaluations.
• Participate in pre-project presentations and interviews.
• Lead project planning from procurement to closeout and monitor status to achieve goals.
