Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to lead design and delivery of municipal water and wastewater projects in Idaho.

You will perform hydraulic analyses, prepare reports and drawings, and coordinate with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions. The role requires 5+ years in water/wastewater engineering, a Civil/Environmental/Chemical engineering background, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• PE licensure preferred or ability to obtain Idaho licensure within 12 months.
• 5+ years of water and wastewater engineering, infrastructure design, and project delivery.
• Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes, collection and distribution systems, pump stations.
• Experience through planning, design, permitting, and construction phases.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or related Engineering.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and client relationship skills.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment is preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling or facility assessments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and support municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects including treatment facilities and pipelines.
• Perform engineering calculations, hydraulic analyses, and evaluations for planning and design.
• Prepare technical memos, reports, drawings, specifications, permit applications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Support project management, including schedules, budgets, and resource coordination.
• Engage with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project development.
• Conduct field investigations, facility assessments, site visits, data collection, and evaluations.
• Provide construction administration support including submittal reviews and startup assistance.
• Assist with proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for new/existing clients.
• Present technical findings and recommendations to clients and project teams.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a growth-oriented team environment.
