Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through construction.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage scopes and budgets, and serve as the primary client contact to navigate regulatory, budget, and stakeholder considerations. Required is a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, California PE (or ability to obtain within three months), and 8+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in California (or ability to obtain within three months).
• 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, preferably in municipal water/wastewater projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong technical background in project delivery from planning to construction support.
• Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, budgets, cost estimates, and client presentations.
• Excellent communication with clients, regulators, contractors, subconsultants, and stakeholders.
• Leadership style balancing technical confidence with collaboration, mentorship, accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams through full project life cycle from planning to closeout.
• Manage water and wastewater infrastructure projects including treatment facilities and conveyance systems.
• Serve as primary client contact, guiding regulatory, budget, schedule, and stakeholder considerations.
• Develop and manage scopes, schedules, budgets, risk strategies, and deliverables.
• Provide QA/QC review for plans, reports, and construction-phase engineering support.
• Mentor engineers and designers to foster a growth-minded team environment.
• Support business development through client relationships, proposals, and networking.
