Job summary

HRG in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Project Engineer focused on Water & Wastewater. You will lead design for water and wastewater facilities, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with project managers and clients to meet budget, schedule, and quality targets.

Ideal candidates have strong hydraulic modeling and regulatory knowledge, plus 5+ years of experience. Travel to job sites and other offices may be required. PE licensure or progress toward it is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in water and wastewater engineering.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling, process design, and industry-standard software.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to water and wastewater systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform engineering design for water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.
• Prepare and review detailed plans, specifications, and technical reports for permitting and approvals.
• Perform and validate complex hydraulic and process calculations using advanced engineering software.
• Ensure assigned engineering tasks are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
• Support client communication and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Assist with proposal development and technical input for business development efforts.
