Job summary

HR Green, Inc. in St. Paul, MN seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to lead water and wastewater projects. You’ll deliver designs for treatment plants, collection systems, and distribution improvements to protect public health and support growing communities.

As a senior contributor, you’ll sign and seal documents, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with project managers to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery while maintaining QA/QC standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering and be professionally registered (P.E.) in one or more states in which HR Green conducts business.
• Six or more years of design/engineering experience and a demonstrated ability to act as an authorized agent of the company to sign engineering documents.
• Possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans.
• Capable of correctly operating technical analysis equipment and computer equipment.
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and apply professional knowledge to routine and non-routine tasks.

Responsibilities

• Direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs.
• Assist the Project Manager and/or act as Project Manager and assign tasks.
• Check the accuracy of tasks (QA/QC) completed by staff.
• Make major design decisions meeting external client needs and coordinate related work.
• Identify and resolve technical, schedule, or financial issues with Project Manager or client.
• Assist in bidding or contractor selection if authorized.
• Monitor construction and supervise field personnel.
• Respond to contractor questions and issue addenda as needed.
• Prepare change orders and project estimates of time and cost.
• Sign and seal engineering documents as authorizing representative.
• Act as technical expert or Project Manager on smaller projects.
