Job summary

MGC Contractors, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking Project Engineers to join our Texas Division in the Austin area.

The Project Engineer will handle general contract and subcontract administration, schedule management, procurement, and coordination of MEP systems on active water and wastewater construction projects. You will review subcontractor payments, participate in meetings, and support cost tracking and change management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field required.
• 2-3 years of construction field experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• General contract and subcontract administration.
• Construction scheduling and coordination.
• Procurement and expediting of materials and equipment.
• Coordination of mechanical, electrical and piping systems.
• Project cost review, reporting and accounting.
• Review of subcontractor applications for payment.
• Participation in project meetings.
• Supervision/coordination of subcontractors on site.
• Review/negotiate change proposals for self-performed work.
• Research and suggest options on construction means and methods.
• Develop and maintain relationships with owners, vendors and subcontractors.
