Job summary

McKee Utility Contractors in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead projects from award through closeout, focusing on safety, schedule, budget, and contract compliance. You will coordinate with Operations, project leadership, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role includes mentoring Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers and ensuring proper documentation, procurement, and safety practices across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Four to seven years of construction project-management experience within the water and wastewater industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project’s budget, schedule, scope, and overall financial performance.
• Track ongoing work-in-progress projections, project costs, commitments, billings, and forecasts to completion.
• Coordinate field execution with Operations and other project leadership.
• Collaborate with Operations and Scheduling to develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Process and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, procurement logs, and other project documentation.
• Review and analyze critical shop drawings for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Review as-built documentation throughout the project and ensure contract compliance.
• Mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.
• Support project closeout, including final documentation and financial reconciliation.
