Loxo is seeking a reliable, goal-driven Preconstruction Manager in Ames, IA to lead preconstruction for water and wastewater projects, with a primary focus on design-build and CMAR delivery. This role serves as the team expert on preconstruction contracting, estimating, constructability, and delivery strategies.

The position requires coordinating with design engineers, equipment vendors, and operations staff, maintaining schedules, budgets, and risk management, and ensuring a smooth transition

Responsibilities

• Adhere to, enforce and support company safety program
• Evaluate subs and suppliers to meet company standards
• Document project changes and correspondence through preconstruction
• Anticipate & address issues affecting goals
• Evaluate constructability and sequencing for water/wastewater facilities
• Identify and mitigate risks related to underground utilities and regulatory requirements
• Assist Project Manager with buyout and scheduling
• Ensure profit objectives by meeting budgets
• Negotiate change orders to protect interests
• Assist in developing estimates for water/wastewater systems
• Understand market conditions and procurement strategies for municipal work
• Design Support & Field Involvement
• Coordinate with design engineers and equipment vendors
• Lead design meetings and team reviews
• Manage project goals and owner communications
• Lead preconstruction efforts for water/wastewater projects
• Develop knowledge of treatment methods and equipment
• Coordinate early procurement for long-lead equipment
• Develop and improve preconstruction processes
• Lead RFQ/RFP submissions
• Develop and improve estimating and scheduling for water/wastewater projects
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and regulatory requirements
